This post is sponsored by the maker of OxiClean™ and free product has been provided. As always, all ideas and opinions are 100% my own.

Before we get to my actual cleaning tips, I just want to back up a little bit and show you one of my main sources of cleaning inspiration.

Meet Oreo. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen her, but I realized that I haven’t officially introduced her on the blog. Oreo is a havenese/poodle cross and she’s my new little baby. She may be small, but she’s a fiesty little thing and loves to play and make as much mess around the house as possible. Lucky for her, she has a really fun personality and is super sweet, so it makes up for all of the mischief that she gets into! How can you be mad at that little face?

Last month, Oreo starred in her first video to share our Dear OxiClean™ story. We had an awesome day of shooting and even the kids and Dave got involved. Oreo, of course, enjoyed all of the attention and hammed it up for the cameras. Be sure to check out the video below. It’s really cool to see a whole day of taping condensed into 60 seconds!

I always love finding a cleaning product that I can use for multiple cleaning tasks and Oreo has provided lots of opportunities over the past few months to try out some new cleaning methods using OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover. In her defense, it’s not all her – the rest of the family seems to make just as big a mess. Thankfully, a little dirt never hurt anyone.

And now, without further ado, here’s Oreo’s video premiere!! Grab the popcorn.

Hopefully that got you inspired for a little cleaning!. Ready to get started?

7 Things to Clean with OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover

7 things that you can clean with OxiClean. I love it when one cleaner can be used for so many different cleaning tasks. #ad

I’ve actually used OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover for years in my regular laundry routine. Extra stain-fighting power is always needed around here. I didn’t really realize though, how many different cleaning tasks it can be used for. I’ve been really happy with all of the results, and OxiClean™ has come to my rescue many times!

For all of the tips below, make sure that your fabrics are water washable and be sure to read the specific care instructions on your items first. Always do a spot check on the fabric or area that you’re treating. I have never had any problems myself but you just never know!

Here are my top 7 things to clean with OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover…

Extra Tough Stains

For those stains that just don’t seem to come out in your regular laundry, you’ll be amazed at what a soaking with OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover will do! Fill up a bucket with hot water and fill the scoop to line 2-4 {depending on the toughness of the stain} per gallon of water. Stir to dissolve the powder and submerge your items. Allow them to soak for 1-6 hours {I sometimes even do it overnight for those extra, extra tough stains!} and then wash as normal with your regular detergent and OxiClean™. I find that this method also works great for white clothing and bedding that just has that dingy look. They come out looking so much whiter without using bleach!

Carpet Stains

If the stain is fresh, remove any loose particles and blot up as much of the stain as possible before treating. To clean the remaining stain, mix up a solution of OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover and hot water in an unsealed container, filling OxiClean™ powder to line 1 per 16 ounces of water and pour into a squeeze bottle. Apply to saturate the stain and allow it to sit for up to 5 minutes. Do not allow it to dry. Blot with a clean white towel and repeat until the stain is gone. Make sure to rinse the area with clean water afterwards and blot dry to completely rinse away any remaining residue. {NOTE: Blotting rather than scrubbing the carpet will remove the stains and will help maintain the fibers of your carpet}.

Upholstery

I’ve used OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover on our upholstered chairs as well as {multiple times!} on our outdoor patio cushions. To clean, first vacuum up any loose particles using the upholstery attachment on your vacuum. Mix up a solution of OxiClean™ and water as stated in the carpet stain instructions. Apply the solution to a clean, white towel – NOT to the stain directly – and blot out the stain. Repeat until the stain is gone. Dampen a clean white towel with water and blot the area to rinse. You especially want to make sure to blot the edges so you don’t leave any watermarks.

Sports Equipment

If you or anyone in your family plays sports, you know how stinky and stained sports equipment and uniforms can get! For any mud or grass stains on uniforms, soak them as soon as possible using the guide on how to treat extra tough stains. Wash the items inside out and dry on low heat. My son is a hockey goalie and his hockey gear STINKS!! I periodically will give everything that can be washed a good soak to really give it a good clean and help get rid of the smell. If only the locker room smelled so good!

Grout

Fill the scoop to line 4 and mix with one gallon of hot water. Stir to dissolve the powder. Apply the solution with a rag or sponge and let it stand for up to 30 minutes. Do not allow it to completely dry. Rinse well with cool water. For extra stubborn grout stains or when working with grout on walls, make up a paste using the OxiClean™ powder and as much water as needed to form a toothpaste-like consistency. Apply with a toothbrush or grout brush and repeat the process as above.

Patio Furniture

We got a lot of new outdoor furniture this year when we re-did our patio, but had a few pieces that we wanted to keep from our old patio furniture. Unfortunately, they had quite a bit of staining on them from the rough winter we had and they really stood out against the new furniture. After a good cleaning with the OxiClean™ solution, however, they looked as good as new. To clean, fill the scoop to line 4 and mix with one gallon of hot water. Apply the solution with a rag or sponge and scrub as needed. Rinse it down with the hose and dry.

Trashcans

Don’t forget about periodically cleaning your trash cans – it’s kind of gross what ends up in there even if you do line them with a bag. Our trash cans got a good cleaning last month when we were working on cleaning and organizing the garage. To clean, make up a solution of OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover and hot water {use 1 scoop filled to line 4 with every gallon of water}. Apply the solution with a cloth or brush – I use a stiff bristled brush on a pole to get down to the bottom – and scrub as needed. Rinse it down with the hose and it’s good as new!

7 things you didn't know you could clean with Oxiclean.

I hope that gives you a good idea of all the things you can clean using OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover. I’m sure there are many more!
